Christmas 2009

Happy holidays! Here are a few festive photos taken at the condo over the last week. I’ll probably add some more on Christmas morning. (click the image to see the album)

“Houston, we have a condo.”

Holy bajolies! After months of pain, we finally signed on our condo this morning. We are now homeowners. I will miss Beacon Hill (and all the money that used to live in my bank account), but this promises to be an exciting new adventure for us. Wish us luck!

Here are a few photos of the place that we took this afternoon.

Can Someone Get Me the SPCA’s Number?

Larry and I spent a few minutes today looking at paint colors on the internet. Over at the My Perfect Color site you can sort the colors by mood and style. Intrigued, Larry had me click on “Romantic Colors”–mostly shades of pink and lilac with names like “Gentle Kisses,” “Candle Glow Rose,” “Silent Arabian Nights,” and “Pure Desire.”

Oh, and “Hamster Cuddles.”

*blink, blink*

Ummm…because nothing says romance like cuddling with a small furry animal?

(cue “Dueling Banjoes” and/or an inappropriate Richard Gere joke–I’ll let you decide)

Great Googly Moogly!

Well, it is official. Larry and I have just put in an offer on a condo in Somerville. Most of you already know which one it is. We started a little low (but not insultingly low), so we expect to hear a counter offer from them tomorrow. Possibly we won’t hear from them until Monday since many people out here take the Easter weekend thing very seriously. Our buyers’ agent actually asked us if we have Friday off. Really? People get Good Friday off? But I digress.

We have a good feeling about this place. Is it perfect? No. (And really, what in this life is?) But that doesn’t mean it isn’t in some ways perfect for us. In short, I think it is a place where we could be very happy, Larry, Buster, and I. As much as we will miss living on Beacon Hill, I think it will be good for us to get out and explore somewhere new. Plus, all the cool kids live in Somerville these days. (Except for Stacey, who thinks it is “the countryside.”)

Wish us luck! I’ll keep you posted on the progress.
